Busy August and September Ahead for Gillette Stadium

The stadium will play host to 15 football games, soccer matches, and concerts during the next 7 weeks.

Heavy traffic on Route 1 will become more common over the next few weeks as Gillette Stadium plays host to concerts, soccer, and the return of football.

The NFL is back in Foxborough on Aug. 13 when the Patriots kick off the preseason against the Green Bay Packers at 7:30 p.m. Two days later, the Revolution are home for a match against the Houston Dynamo.

The Gillette Stadium Concert Series continues next week with shows on back to back weekends. Rock legends AC/DC perform on Aug. 22 with a 7:30 start time while stadium regular Kenny Chesney and Jason Aldean are in town for a two-night stand on Aug. 28 and 29.

The annual Patriots-Giants preseason game on Sept. 4 starts the first of two busy weeks in September for the stadium, with the US Soccer Men’s National Team hosting Brazil on Sept. 8, the Patriots Thursday night home opener on Sept. 10, and One Direction on Sept. 12.

The month ends with a jammed back weekend featuring Ed Sheeran on Sept. 25, the Revs vs. the Philadelphia Union on Sept. 26, and the Pats vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 27.

The Revolution has additional matches scheduled against Orlando City SC on Sept. 5 and the New York Red Bulls on Sept. 16.

UMass football will play the first of three games in Foxborough with a showdown against Temple on Sept. 19
