Cases Down But OUIs and Aggravated Assaults Up in Foxborough in 2014

The Foxborough Police Department released their 2014 annual report

Police in Foxborough saw a slight increase in aggravated assaults, OUI arrests, but less cases during 2014.

In the Foxborough Police 2014 Annual Report, Police Chief Ed O’Leary wrote that while the department handled 2303 cases, down from 3232 in 2012 and 2554 last year, aggravated assaults were up by 10 percent and OUI arrests increased by 13 percent to 74.

In total, Foxborough police received 22,697 calls, investigated 10 unattended death cases, 28 missing persons, and 48 electronic harassment cases. O’Leary called electronic harassment a growing trend.

The department also helped the fire department with 1,500 emergency calls and assisted 1,682 people with lockouts, disabled vehicles, and house checks.

There were 1,609 reports of suspicious activity and 3,900 business checks. In Foxborough, over 500 arrests were made along with 241 summons and 491 protective custodies.

In traffic, there were 707 crashes and 1,500 traffic citations.
