Dooley Disposal to Become Lone Trash Pickup Service

The local trash pickup service is set to acquire Russell Disposal's Foxborough customers.

Dooley Disposal is about to gain a lot of customers in Foxborough, it fact, they’re getting all of Russell Disposal’s customers.

Town Manager Bill Keegan told the selectmen last week that the town has been working with Dooley to transfer Russell’s customers to the Foxborough-based company, ending Russell’s presence in Foxborough.

Currently, Dooley picks up trash from the majority of residential homes in Foxborough. According to owner A.J. Dooley, the company has 2,200 customers out of a potential 4,200.

“It’s been a good process and we’re getting to the final stages. We look forward to being the vendor of the large majority of the town,” Dooley said.

While Dooley will obtain the town’s contract, they won’t be the only game in town. If a resident is unhappy with their trash pickup, they can use any company permitted for the service in town.

Once the deal is completed, Russell customers will have 3-4 weeks of notice prior to the start change. A target date for the switch is set for July 1.

Russell Disposal leaves Foxborough after less than three years in town.
