Driver Wanted in Newton Hit and Run Arrested in Foxborough for Dunken Driving

Police say a vehicle involved in a hit and run in Newton was found at Foxborough home.
At 9:38 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported an erratic operator heading west on Mechanic Street from Route 95 South, according to the Foxborough Log.
Police located the vehicle at the owner’s home, unoccupied, with the lights on, and with front end damage. It also appeared that the vehicle hit the mailbox of a home on Howe Lane.

Newton police told officers in Foxborough that the car was allegedly involved in a hit in run in their town.
The driver of the car, Amy Shuman, 58, of Foxborough, was arrested and charged with drunken driving.

Police were initially given permission to go into the house to obtain the keys to the vehicle, but when she was asked where the keys were in the house, she refused permission to enter.
