Engine Damage Discovered in Plane that Crashed in Plainville
Investigators have found internal damage in the engine of the plane.
Investigators have discovered internal damage in the engine of the plane that crashed into a Plainville home Sunday evening.
Doug Brazy, an air safety investigator with the National Transportation Safety Board, told reporters Tuesday afternoon that there is evidence of internal damage but the extent and cause of the damage is unknown.
According to audio of the communication between the pilot of the plane and an air traffic control tower, the pilot can be heard saying that he was having engine trouble before crashing into the house.

The engine will be transported to a lab operated by the engine manufacturer in Mobile, Ala. The rest of the plane will be removed on Tuesday night.
The plane did not have a flight recorder, nor was it required to.

The briefing was the last on site. Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and NTSB are expected to remain in Plainville for a couple of more days.
