VIDEO: 2-Alarm Fire Causes $400,000 in Damage

FOXBOROUGH, MA - Local firefighters responded to a blaze at 42 Pine Acre Road Thursday that caused an estimated $400,000 in damage

According to scanner reports, the fire was is in a metal clad commercial building at an excavating business. Heavy smoke and small explosions were reported at the scene.

NECN reporter Kathryn Sotnik described, “an awful overpowering stench coming from the smoke” while a few miles away from the fire.

Due to the chemicals involved in the fire, the area has been closed to traffic, according to NECN.

Fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze by 5:20 p.m. according to the Sun Chronicle. Foxborough Fire said that everyone was able to get out of the building. One employee was treated at the scene for burns while a firefighter was transported to Norwood Hospital.

The fire was located on a road behind Bass Pro Shop and the cranberry bogs.

Due to the fire, there may be widespread dirty water within the town. If this does occur, the Water Department will address this situation as soon as possible, according to the town’s Facebook page.

Mutual aid was provided by six local fire departments.
