Fire Station Talks to Continue Tuesday

The Duffys and selectmen are scheduled to resume discussions on the future of the property Tuesday evening.

FOXBOROUGH, MA - Talks between the town and the winner of an auction for the former Foxborough Fire Department and Keating Funeral Home are scheduled to resume Tuesday.

On March 8 at 7:55 p.m., Mark and Judy Duffy, the owners of Judy's Village Flowers, will continue discussions with the selectmen on a municipal conversion permit for the property. Prior to the meeting, the selectmen will meet in executive session to discuss the matter with Town Counsel Pat Costello.

The two sides last met in January, with the Duffys stating that they had did not have long term plans for the parcel. In the short term, Mark Duffy said a local businessman offered to buy the fire station to use as an office.

The selectmen, however, said they hoped the new owners of the property would create a project that would kickstart economic development in the downtown area.

In December, the Duffys won a town auction for the three parcels.
