High School Hockey Needs Your Clothes!

The Foxborough Boys Ice Hockey team is on a quest to take all of your old clothes off your hands, out of

your closets and down from your attics. The hockey booster club came up with this unusual (and

helpful) fundraiser to help pay for some of the expenses of the upcoming season. What better way to

earn some money for the team than helping Foxboro tidy up their houses by collecting gently used and

unwanted clothing?

The idea of the fundraiser is that the hockey team will be at Foxboro High School on Saturday, October

15th from 9 am - noon to collect bags of clothes from any donators. The clothing will then be taken to Savers in Norwood who will pay the team for the clothes by the pound. Savers is a thrift retailer that benefits nonprofit organizations and saves millions of pounds from landfills each year.

What will the funds be used for? The money will go to the essentials of the winter season by helping

pay for the locker room rental at the ice rink, the senior honors at the end of the season and various

events throughout the season including the first annual Alumni Hockey Game, the Teacher Appreciation

Night and the end-of-season banquet at the Foxboro Country Club.

The team is excited about getting started for the season with a new head coach and a great chance to

make the playoffs this year. They hope to capitalize on the experience and skills of their large senior

class on the team and bring the new freshmen into the fun and cohesive team atmosphere.

So, when you clean out your closets during your fall cleaning, please drop your bags of clothing with the

boys hockey team on Saturday, October 15st at the high school and get ready for the team to hit the ice!
