Foxboro Woman Claims Discriminatory Firing From Wormtown Brewery
Foxborough resident Jennifer McCarthy said she was fired from Wormtown Brewery at Patriot Place because of her prosthetic leg.
FOXBOROUGH, MA — A Foxborough woman claimed she was fired from Wormtown Brewery at Patriot Place because of her prosthetic leg. Jennifer McCarthy told Fox 25 News she was hired at the Worcester-based brewery's newest location in Foxborough, but said she was fired after a busy opening weekend.
The Patriots game Sunday filled the brewery, and McCarthy said she needed to go at her own pace to avoid getting hurt. But McCarthy said her manager fired her Tuesday for not being able to keep up.
"I like usually don't make big deals about this stuff, but this was literally as discriminatory as they come," McCarthy told Fox 25 News.

Brewery representatives told the Sun Chronicle they plan to meet with McCarthy to discuss what happened and "rectify the situation."
“We were disappointed to hear the concerns of a member of our brewery family during her employment at Wormtown Brewery, because it goes against everything we believe in as a brewery,” brewery general nanager Scott Metzger told The Sun Chronicle. "At Wormtown, we strive to always maintain a culture that is supportive of our brewery family and the greater beer community."
