Foxborough Boys' Soccer Falls in 2OT Heartbreaker

The Warriors fell to Norwell 4-3 in the MIAA Division 3 South boys' soccer tournament.

Exactly one year earlier the Foxborough boys’ soccer team sat in shock as a last minute from Norwell in the semi-final round of the MIAA Division 3 South tournament ended their season.

Fast forward to Wednesday night and it was the same team, different script, and similar result.

Despite forcing two extra time periods, the Warriors once again lost to the Clippers in the semi-final round, falling 4-3.

The vulnerable minutes after scoring did in the Warriors, as Norwell was able to score minutes after the first two Foxborough goals. Anthony Barreira scored the opening goal in the 13th minute, making the most of a blocked shot from Devante Teixeira that landed at his feet.

Only two minutes later, Jack Ochs tied the game for Norwell, with the Clippers taking a 2-1 lead in the 15th minute on a tap-in from Connor Grant.

Teixeira snipe to the far right post tied the game in the 60th minute but again, Norwell would respond with a Hary Davis goal four minutes later.

Depiste, Barreria sending the game to extra time in the 77th minute, Norwell would get the win on Och’s second goal in the 94th minute.

Foxborough finishes the year with a record of 15-2-1.
