Foxborough Coronavirus Update: 79 Total Cases, 1 Death

There are 79 total cases of the new coronavirus in Foxborough as of Friday morning, according to Town Manager Bill Keegan.

FOXBOROUGH, MA – There are 79 total cases of the new coronavirus in Foxborough as of Friday, according to Town Manager Bill Keegan, who posted a video update on Facebook. A total of 47 Foxborough residents have recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, as of Friday.

There has been one coronavirus-related death in Foxborough as of Friday morning.

Nearly 400 people in Foxborough have tested negative for COVID-19. There are 26 active cases in the city, with three hospitalizations.

More than 64,300 people in Massachusetts have tested positive for COVID-19 as of Friday afternoon, according to Massachusetts Department of Health data. According to the data, there have been 154 additional deaths, bringing to total number of deaths statewide to 3,716. There were 2,106 newly reported cases since data was released Thursday afternoon, and 947 confirmed cases are currently in ICU.

In Massachusetts, there have been 289,636 COVID-19 tests performed, with 13,989 new tests reported Friday.

The Board of Selectmen have scaled back the initial budget proposal for Fiscal year 2021 by almost $2.3 million. The new proposed budget, which is pending a town meeting vote on June 15, gives the town roughly $83.19 to provide services and pay its employees and other expenses. This still represents a 3 percent budget increase from the previous fiscal year. MORE
