Foxborough Could Receive up to 10 More Liquor Licenses
The licenses would be divided across three areas of town.

FOXBOROUGH, MA - Up to 10 more liquor licenses could be on their way to Foxborough.
At a recent selectmen’s meeting, Selectman David Feldman and Lorraine Brue of the Economic Development Committee discussed their proposal to petition the state for the licenses.
In the plan, the 10 licenses will be distributed across three nodes. In the first node for the downtown area, there will be three new licenses. One would go to Mandarin Chef, freeing up their current beer and wine license, and two more would be requested for possible restaurants at the former fire station and American Legion.

The Route 140 and Foxborough Boulevard area would also receive an all alcohol license to allow Hops and Grapes to upgrade their wine and malt license and two restaurant all alcohol licenses for the potential redevelopment of the former Invensys offices. The Hops and Grapes wine and malt license would be transferred to Normandy Farms, who has an interest in the license for their convenience store, according to Brue.
The Route 1 node has four licenses for future development of the area.

Selectman Chris Mitchell asked about the possibility of town-wide licenses, but Town Manager Bill Keegan said the state legislature wants any new licenses to be assigned to an area.
The petitions first need a vote from town meeting. When they make the warrant, they will appear as three articles, one for each node.
