Foxborough Election 2020: How To Request A Mail-In Ballot

The Secretary of State is allowing any registered voter to request a mail-in ballot for elections being held on or before June 30.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — With municipal elections across Massachusetts already delayed to help slow the spread of the new coronavirus, the Secretary of State's office said Wednesday any registered voter in Massachusetts can request a mail-in ballot for elections being held on or before June 30.

Last week, Foxborough Selectmen unanimously approved delaying the annual election to June 8 from May 4 under authority granted from the state in an effort to slow the spread of the new coronavirus. Town meeting was also pushed back to June 15 from May 11.

Town Clerk Bob Cutler said new state legislation gave cities and towns the ability to postpone elections, but those elections need to be conducted by June 30. But if the COVID-19 crisis doesn't improve by then, he imagines new legislation will pass if elections need to be moved again.
