Foxborough Election Results: Newcomers Take Selectmen, School Committee Seats

Here are the results of the 2016 Foxborough Town Election.

FOXBOROUGH, MA - It was a split between the incumbents and the newcomers in the 2016 Foxborough Town Election.

In both the selectmen and school committee races, the voters selected a current member of the board and a challenger. In the selectmen race, Chairman Jim DeVellis was the top vote getter with 1,398 votes. Mark Elfman picked up the second seat for 1,133. The high finish for Elfman means that John Gray has been voted out of office after one term with 733 votes.

Steven Sloan and former Selectman Mark Sullivan round out the race with 411 and 332 votes.

In the school committee race, Marilyn Weiss was voted to her first full term. Joining her will be first-time candidate Chris Connolly, who received 821 votes. Robert Canfield finished third with 768 votes while former committee member Martha Slattery earned 749 votes. Sullivan finished fifth with 389 votes.

The selectmen and school committee races were the only contested positions on the ballot.

Overall, there were 2,153 voters.
