Foxborough Farmers Market Postponed A Year
Due to a lack of farmers, the inaugural market on the common has been pushed to next year.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — If you were looking forward to the 2017 Foxborough Farmers Market, you're going to have to wait another year.
Due to a lack of farmers, the inaugural market on the common has been pushed to next year, town officials confirmed at a recent selectmen meeting.
"We're going to take a raincheck on this summer and try for next summer. It was a little rushed and tight to get things done with everyone's schedules," Selectman Jim DeVellis said.

Town Manager Bill Keegan said the proposed Sunday date was problematic because many farmers take that day off.
"The message here is they're postponing and not canceling. We want to make sure it's done the right way," Keegan said. "The actual farmers are committed to different places during the week. Sunday is their Sabbath day so they don't come out."

Selectman Ginny Coppola suggested combining the market with an event like the Concert on the Common, but there were concerns about space and logistics.
Keegan also said they should consider moving the market from the common to another place which has better parking.
