Foxborough Founders Day 2017: What You Need To Know

Founder's Day is June 10 and starts with the parade at 10 a.m.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — The second Saturday in June approaching and that means it's time to head to the common and Booth Playground and celebrate everything that is Foxborough.

The annual Founder's Day celebration is set for this weekend and comes with the theme of "The History of Foxborough." Town Historian Jack Authelet has been picked as the parade's grand marshall and will lead the fire trucks, bands, and marchers around the center of town and to the Booth Playground.

The Schedule

  • 9:40 a.m. - The boys and girls wagon and doll carriage parade. This year, it will take place on the common. Participants will assemble at Memorial Hall.
  • 9 a.m.-1 p.m. - Army National Guard Helicopter on display
  • 10 a.m. - Parade starts at 132 Central St. and proceeds around the center of town to South Street, ending at the Booth Playground.
  • 11 a.m.–5 p.m. - Activities at Booth Playgroung. Non-profit organizations provide food, games, raffles, crafts and other activities on the field including multi-class Foxborough High School reunion at the reunion tent, fire department touch-a-truck and more.
  • 11 a.m.-4 p.m. - Inline hockey tournaments
  • 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. -Live Music from The Gobshites
  • 12-1 p.m. - Foxborough Fire Department house fire demonstration
  • 7-9 p.m. - Live music from Gainesville Road
  • 8:45-9 p.m. - Founders Day raffle drawings winners announced
  • 9-9:30 p.m. - Fireworks

The Parade

Led by Authelet, the parade will take it's traditional route from Central Street to the common before wrapping up at the Booth Playground on South Street. This year's collection of bands, fire trucks, police cruisers, youth groups, and even NFL football players includes:

The Dos and Don’ts of Founders Day

DO!

  • Bring Lawn chairs, blankets, and sunscreen
  • Drop off Wagon and Doll Carriage Parade at Memorial Hall
  • Enjoy the day and have fun!

DON'T!

  • Bring your Dog
  • Ride bicycles on the field
  • Bring squirt guns or silly string to any Founders Day event
  • Park on private property without permission.
  • Park in restricted areas (e.g., blocking fire lanes, driveways, fire hydrants or handicapped parking)
  • Bring alcoholic beverages to Founders Day
