Foxborough Historic House Demolition Delayed For Now
The historical commission recently voted to delay demolition of 85 South St.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — A historic house on South Street will remain up for now.
The historical commission recently voted to delay demolition of 85 South St., the Sun Chronicle reported. The house was built in 1803 and has a prospective buyer in Rev. Edward Cardoza of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and his partner.
Cardoza said he wanted to buy the home and restore it, but Fannie Mae told Cardoza that they didn't know when the repossessed house would hit the market.

About 13 months after the house was repossessed, it was sold to Carroll Construction owner Mark Carroll, who wants to demolish the home and build a single-family home. He believes that the home is un-repairable, but Carsoza said the home was in good condition until it was neglected.
Also known as the Squire Elias Nason House, 83 South St. is one of the oldest houses in town.
