A Foxborough man has pleaded guilty to scamming thousands of dollars from illegal immigrants.

Francisco Soares, 44, pleaded guilty to impersonating federal agents to defraud immigrants as part of a scam with Paul Stein, 57, of Mashpee, according to the Sun Chronicle.

The two men were accused of defrauding immigrants by taking between $8,250 to $10,750 each and promising to fix residency problems.

Stein was sentenced to 15 months in prison and received a $3,000 fine in May while Soares will be scheduled to be sentenced in September.
