Foxborough Man Arrested On Child Rape Charges
John Quinn was arrested in Foxborough Wednesday and charged Thursday with several counts of rape of a child.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — A Foxborough man who worked at an after-school program at a Waltham Elementary school has been charged with six counts of aggravated rape of child and six counts of rape of a child with force, the Norfolk County District Attorney's office confirmed.
Following a police investigation, John Quinn, 28, was arrested by Foxborough Police Wednesday and was arraigned Thursday in Wrentham District Court. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and is free on $5,000 cash bail, according to David Traub, a spokesperson for the DA's office. While free, Quinn must be tracked via GPS monitoring. He must also: stay away from and have no contact with the victim, victim’s minor siblings, and victim’s mom; abide by any active HPOs and have no supervised contact with anyone under the age of 18. Additionally, he is not allowed to work at a job with minors.
Assistant Norfolk District Attorney Jessica Brokaw requested that Quinn be ordered held on $10,000 cash bail, plus the additional condition that any job he works to be approved by the probation department.

Quinn was an employee of Champions, the after- and before-school program for Plympton Elementary School in Waltham. Superintendent Drew Echelson said Quinn was not a town employee and he does not believe any Waltham children were affected by this incident. The DA's office confirmed that the victim in the case is not a child Quinn knew through his employment.
Echelson said he learned of the arrest Wednesday evening from the chief of police.

"And then late morning, I heard about charges at the arraignment and communicated it to the Plympton community," he said.
He also met with Champions, who he said were just as shocked, and looked at his company personnel file. Echelson said there were no red flags or any indicators that something like this would happen. Quinn had no prior arrests, and his background check information met the district's standard, Echelson said.
"As I understand it, he's on administrative leave," said Echelson, who has worked with the contractor since September 2016.
Quinn is due back in court Nov. 9 for a pre-trial hearing.
