Foxboro Bystanders Wrangle 2 Escaped Horses With Winter Clothes

Two bystanders used a sweater and a scarf to catch two escaped horses in Foxborough that got out of their Mansfield pasture.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Two horses that escaped their Mansfield pasture were found in the middle of the road Foxborough. Police were called to South Street Monday night when witnesses saw the horses.

Foxborough Animal Control officer Kaycee Bailey said two witnesses found the horses and were quickly able to get the animals under control. One used her sweater to wrangle in one of the horses while the other used his scarf to bring in the other.

"We got pretty lucky the people that found them had horse experience," Bailey told Patch.

Police were able to borrow harnesses from a local farm and had the horses at Animal Control for a couple hours before Mansfield police called and said the owner came in to report they escaped.

Police jokingly said the animals must have escaped Mansfield to get good seats for the Patriots game Sunday.

"A big shout out to all the cowboys (not Dallas) and cowgirls who helped out on South Street," Foxborough police said in a Facebook post.
