Foxborough Police, Fire to Conduct Training at F. Gilbert Hills State Forest

A state helicopter will also be flying in the area.

From the Foxborough Police Department:

On Monday May 8 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m., the Foxborough Police Department, Foxborough Fire Department, Massachusetts State Police, Massachusetts Environmental Police, and the Department of Conservation and Recreation will be conducting a search and rescue training exercise in the F. Gilbert Hills State Forest. There will be a heavy police and fire presence within the state forest and on Mill Street. There will also be a state police helicopter flying overhead at low levels.

This is a pre-planned exercise to test the capabilities of the above named agencies to respond collaboratively to a lost or injured individual within the confines of the state forest. The purpose of this training exercise is to improve our search and rescue capabilities and to provide the best emergency response services to those individuals who use the state forest.

The purpose of this notification is to make the neighbors and users of the F. Gilbert Hills State Forest aware of this planned training event and the planned presence of police and fire personnel to limit any fears or concerns.
