FOXBOROUGH, MA —After 35 years serving on the police force, Patrolman Scot Taggart worked his final shift Friday. A second-generation police officer, Taggart followed in the footsteps of his father, Patrolman Peter Taggart. Scot Taggart began his career in 1984 by proving himself as an auxiliary officer before serving full-time for the town since.

Over the years, Taggart helped the Foxborough Police Department in a number of roles including, court prosecutor, evidence/property officer, traffic officer, sex offender compliance, and field training officer. Taggart also worked ATV patrol and undercover drug assignments in the early 90s.

But what Foxborough police said they will remember most about Taggart was his commitment to causes outside his work.
