FOXBOROUGH, MA — Foxborough Police Chief Michael Grace on Monday released a statement condemning police brutality in general — but in particular the Minneapolis officers who killed George Floyd.

Grace said he watched the video of Floyd's killing and it left him "sickened his stomach."He said what happened to Floyd was contrary t0 everything Foxborough police officers are taught from their academy days to current use of force guidelines.

Grace also acknowledged the incident tarnishes police officers that devote their careers to building community trust and damages police relationships with minorities.

Floyd's death has led to protests in cities and towns across the U.S. In Boston on Sunday night, a peaceful demonstration ended with looting, more than 50 arrests, and multiple people injured.
