Foxborough Public Schools Named on AP Honor Roll
Foxborough was one of 547 districts to receive the honor.

The Foxborough Public School District has been recognized for their improvements when it comes to the AP Exam.
The school district was one of 547 school districts in the country and Canada to earn a spot on the AP District Honor Roll for significant gains in student access and success.
According to Superintendent Debra Spinelli, the district’s efforts to expand AP offerings while maintaining an average score of at least a three out of five led to Foxborough earning a spot on the honor roll.

“Last year we had that discussion about why weren’t we on there? We knew we were on track because we’ve seen our data rising. I’m happy that we’re on it,” Spinelli said.
Spinelli added that Foxborough High School was able to maintain the high average score for the exam despite reaching an all-time high for students enrolled in AP classes.

Inclusion on the honor roll is based on the examination of three years of data from 2012 to 2014, looking across 34 AP Exams, including world languages and culture. The following criteria were used:
Districts must:
- Increase participation/access to AP by at least 4 percent in large districts, at least 6 percent in medium districts, and at least 11 percent in small districts.
- Increase or maintain the percentage of exams taken by African Americans, Hispanic/Latino, and American Indian/Alaska Native students.
- Improve performance levels when comparing the percentage of students in 2014 scoring a three or higher to those in 2012, unless the district has already attained a performance level at which more than 70 percent of its AP students are scoring a three or higher.
