VIDEO: Foxborough Resident Gives Nomination Speech for Bernie Sanders at DNC

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Joseph Kennedy III, Elizabeth Warren, and Marty Walsh wern't the only Massachusetts speakers at the Democratic National Convention this week. During the party's roll call vote, it was a Foxborough man who seconded the nomination of Senator Bernie Sanders for president.
Paul Feeney, a former member of the Foxborough Board of Selectmen, spoke at the convention in Philadelphia Tuesday, calling for unity in his speech.
"To my brother and sisters who were a part of this campaign, I urge you to stay active, stay engaged, stayed fired up because we have shown that people power in politics can never be defeated," an energized Feeney said. "Now is the time to stand up, rise up, and send a message that our party is united, our movement is alive and our party has just begun."

As expected, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was named the party's nominee for president.
Feeney is the legislative director for IBEW and is a member of chapter 2222. He also worked for the Sanders Campaign as the Massachusetts state director.

He told the Boston Globe that he was asked to give the speech Monday.
