Foxborough Residents Enjoy 'Awesome' Supercorss Experience at Gillette Stadium
Mitchell Timmins and Blaine Newhook win Partners in Patriotism newsletter giveaway for Saturday's Supercross event at Gillette Stadium.
Saturday was a special day for two Foxborough residents, as Mitchell Timmins, 20, and Blaine Newhook, 19, enjoyed a VIP experience to the Monster Energy AMA Supercoss races at Gillette Stadium on April 23.
Timmins and Newhook spent the day as guests of the Kraft Group after Timmins won event tickets and a VIP track walk experience for him and a guest through a resident giveaway offer found in the latest issue of “Partners in Patriotism,” the Kraft Group’s quarterly newsletter mailed to every household in Foxborough.
Timmins and Newhook, both 2014 graduates of Foxborough High School, grew up riding dirt bikes together and were thrilled Supercross was in town for its first ever race at Gillette Stadium.

“It’s awesome that Supercross is finally here and I’m really excited to see the races,” said Timmins.
“This event is something we’ve been waiting years for to come to Gillette Stadium,” added Newhook. “We’ve always been riding in Foxborough and have always said, ‘It would be so cool to have Supercross in Foxborough.’ Now it’s here, which is incredible. A huge thank you to the Kraft family for hosting this event and bringing it to Foxborough.”

The day was extra special for Newhook, who will be heading to boot camp for the Coast Guard next week.
“This is one of the best days of my life,” Newhook said. “It’s such an awesome experience.”
During the pre-event track walk, Timmins and Newhook got an up-close look at what a track requiring more than 500 truckloads of dirt looks like inside Gillette Stadium.
“The track walk was awesome,” said Timmins. “It was the first time I have been able to see a Supercross track in person, let alone walk along one. It’s a lot different than it looks on TV.”
Newhook agreed.
“It was so cool seeing the track being constructed and being able to see the conditions they are riding in,” Newhook said. “This definitely gives you a whole new perspective and appreciation for the races.”
Following the track walk, Timmins and Newhook walked through the pit party, where they got to see the different bikes and riders working with their mechanics to make final adjustments prior to the races.
As for the main event, Timmins and Newhook were looking forward to watching rider Ryan Dungey and Ken Roczen compete.
“I love the competitiveness of these races,” Newhook said. “It will be great to see Dungey and Roczen battle each other.”
Roczen ended up winning the 15th Supercross race of the season and Dungey finished third.
The FIM World Championship Series is the world’s premier stadium motorcycle circuit featuring top riders like Dungey, James Stewart, Chad Reed, Justin Barcia and Trey Canard. The track at Gillette Stadium featured jumps that sent riders soaring 70 feet in distance and 30 feet in height. Throughout race day, more than 150 riders competed for spots in their respective division’s Main Events and a chance to race for points toward the Monster Energy Supercross Championship in Las Vegas on May 7.
Monster Energy AMA Supercross is a Feld Entertainment event.
