Foxborough School Committee Chair and Vice-Chair Get Second Term

Bruce Gardner and Tina Belanger will enjoy a second year as the chairman and vice-chair of the Foxborough School Committee.

At last week’s meeting, the committee gave the duo a second term in their positions, an unprecedented and rare move for the board.

“I feel privileged to sit here. I think the only reason why I can go back to back is the relationship we have. What makes us a strong committee is that we view it as our committee and we have five respectful voices, not always on the same point nor should they be,” Gardner said.

The votes came at the recommendation of committee member Beverly Lord, who said things were running so smoothly that it was worth giving the team a second year at the helm.

Vice-chair Belanger also endorsed the plan to keep the board’s leadership the same.
