Here Are The Patriots' Odds To Beat The Jaguars On The Road In Week 3

FOXBOROUGH, MA — The Patriots are hoping to build on a solid Week Two victory as they head south to take on another AFC contender for another Sunday matinee matchup.

The 1-1 Patriots will take on the 1-1 Jacksonville Jaguars at Everbank Stadium in Duval County for a Week three matchup.

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, New England is a 2.5-point underdog against Jacksonville. Traditionally, home teams are usually handicapped three points in matchups that are not considered one-sided toward one team. The Pats were 4.5-point favorites last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers and covered the spread comfortably with a 17-point victory, with the defense holding quarterback Aaron Rodgers and company out of the endzone.

Head coach Mike Vrabel and his defensive staff will have their hands full against a good offensive scheme and several dynamic playmakers. Those two things were on display in the Jags’ first home game in a 34-10 domination over the Cleveland Browns. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence completed 78 percent of his passes and threw four touchdown passes. Fourth-year receiver Parker Washington continues his ascension alongside former Patriot Jakobi Meyers, but the Patriots hope they have the advantage with their defensive secondary.

Cornerback Carlton Davis is set to return to the lineup after missing last week with a neck injury. All-Pro Christian Gonzalez is off to a great start through the first two games, containing receivers Jaxon Smith-Njigba and D.K. Metcalf to pedestrian gains when he had them in man coverage.

Quarterback Drake Maye played better than he did in the opener at Seattle, however the three- interception fourth quarter left a lot of room for improvement. The 2025 MVP runner-up only had one turnover last week, and fans are still waiting for Maye to return to his 2025 peak form. He has a track record of performing well in hot climates, and the forecast calls for a warm but comfortable day with temperatures in the low 80s. The Patriots may have an advantage there as well as they will don their heat-deflecting all-white uniform while the Jaguars are wearing their 90s throwback “prowler” set.

The Patriots have not won in Jacksonville since 2012; however, they have only played there one other time since. The two teams last faced off in the Jags’ second home of London, England, in 2024 during the forgettable Jerod Mayo year of 2024. The Pats took a 16-point defeat against a team that had its own struggles at the time; however, that was one of the first times Maye had shown some promise for the future during his rookie year.

After an undefeated season on the road last year, New England is hoping to start a new streak on Sunday.
