Here Are The Patriots' Odds To Beat The Raiders In Week 5
New England looks to build off a remarkable win as injuries continue to pile up.
FOXBOROUGH, MA — The Patriots have returned home for Week five after a potentially season-saving victory in Buffalo last Sunday.
The 2-2 Patriots are hosting the 3-1 Las Vegas Raiders at Gillette Stadium this Sunday for a Sunday matinee matchup.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, New England is a 3.5 -point favorite against Las Vegas. Traditionally, home teams are usually handicapped three points in matchups that are not considered one-sided toward one team. The Pats went into Buffalo as heavy underdogs and came out victorious due in part to the late-game heroics of quarterback Drake Maye and wide receiver Efton Chism III. Maye finally found his groove and showed signs of being the player he was in 2025, once again outplaying Bills quarterback Josh Allen and tossing three touchdown passes, including the game-winner to Chism. Naturally, the rest of the offense also had its best game of the season overall. Wide receiver Romeo Doubs caught his first two touchdowns as a member of New England after an uneven start to his Patriot tenure. The unit was also more efficient running the ball, with Maye contributing 54 yards on the ground himself.

“I know this is hard to believe but we didn’t really do anything different from Week one to Week two to Week three to Week four,” Offensive Coordinator Josh McDaniels said in a press conference.
New England was able to weather the injury storm last week, however the list of banged-up players has only grown since. Head Coach Mike Vrabel announced that both starting cornerbacks Christian Gonzalez and Carlton Davis III will not suit up on Sunday, along with two depth cornerbacks as well. While the Raiders’ wide receivers are not household names, they possess one of the best tight end duos in the league. Gonzalez and Davis have only both been active for two games thus far.

On offense, wide receiver Mack Hollins will miss his first game of the year after suffering a calf injury late in the game against the Bills. Hollins has been the most consistent target for Maye throughout the year so far, so the offense will have to adjust while maintaining their momentum against a defense that leads the league in forced turnovers so far with nine.
“They do a lot of good stuff, they’re forcing takeaways and making plays on the football,” Maye said about the Raiders defense in a press conference.
Maye added that he felt the difference in his performance last week compared to the prior three was that he and his teammates did not hesitate to make plays when the opportunity came.
This Sunday is set up to be a sentimental and celebratory one in Foxborough as well, with the return of more than 30 players from the 2001 Super Bowl champion team. The franchise is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its first Lombardi-winning squad with a special pregame ceremony. At halftime, kicker Adam Vinatieri will be honored with a ceremony of his own for being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame earlier this year.
