FOXBOROUGH, MA — The 3-10 New England Patriots, fresh off a bye week, can contribute to the muddy NFC West playoff picture this weekend during a Sunday bout against the Arizona Cardinals.

New England travels to Arizona to face the 6-7 Cardinals, who are among the teams fighting to stay alive in the crowded NFC West.

The Patriots will get some help along the offensive line as the team appears ready to activate guard Cole Strange from injured reserve. Strange has yet to play this year as he's been recovering from a knee injury suffered last year.

Weekly Tankathon Check-In

Yes, folks, it is officially that time of year. The regular season in college football is over, meaning draftable players are making decisions based around their future career prospects.

Given the Patriots standing in the league, and also in the team development path, it's worth checking in on where things stand draft-wise this late in the year.

As things stand, the Patriots would have the third overall pick in the 2025 draft if the season ended today, according to Tankathon. However, the Pats would be in a great position, as the two teams in front of them — the New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders — are both projected to draft a quarterback.

The Patriots won't need to draft a young quarterback given the promise Drake Maye has shown in year one, meaning that, again, if the draft were to happen today, they'd have their choice of the first non-quarterback off the board.

But don't lock in a top-five pick for the Patriots just yet, as the bottom of the NFL is more crowded than usual this season.

Eight teams have a record of 3-10 or worse, meaning the top eight spots are in flux. The Chicago Bears could play into that, too, as they've only recorded one additional win and are losing steam fast. Chicago's seven consecutive losses are third only to New York and Las Vegas.
