K9 Unit Needed to Find Woman Who Fled Vehicle Drunk

A K9 unit was needed to locate the suspect, police said.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — A woman abandoned her car drunk early Friday morning, police said.

At about 3:15 a.m., Foxborough and state police responded to a report of an unoccupied vehicle on Walnut Street. After realizing that the driver fled the scene, Foxborough police requested the use of a state K9 unit, according to the Massachusetts police.

While preparing to deploy, Foxborough officers located the suspect’s boyfriend circling the area in another vehicle attempting to pick her up. He told police that his girlfriend jumped the curve, panicked, and ran into the woods.

The K9 unit ran into the woods and was able to locate the wanted woman, who was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

The woman, identified as 21-year-old Foxborough resident Carly Dooley, was arraigned Monday in Wrentham District Court. She was released on personal recognizance and is due back in court June 30.
