FOXBOROUGH, MA — Wendy Powell works as a pharmacy technician at the CVS on Central Street, and like a lot of mothers, works hard to provide for her three children. Last Tuesday, that became a lot harder after her car malfunctioned and caught fire in the parking lot of a local TD bank. Her insurance would only cover a fraction of the cost to replace the vehicle, so the nonprofit branch of the Kraft Group stepped up and donated $3,000 to help Powell purchase a new car.

The Partners in Patriotism (PIP) Fund said the donation will increase to $5,000 with some community support. Powell and her family set up a GoFundMe page with the goal of raising $5,000. If the GoFundMe page reaches its $5,000 goal by the end of September, the PIP Fund will donate an additional $2,000 to match the $5,000 raised by the community and provide the Powell family with a total of $10,000 toward the purchase of a new car.

"Wendy and her family find themselves in a very difficult situation following the sudden loss of their vehicle last week," said PIP Fund grants chairman Jimmy McGowan. "We have seen Foxborough rally around its neighbors time and time again and hope this matching grant can encourage the community to the Powells in their time of need. We look forward to partnering with the community on this initiative in the hopes of making a meaningful donation to Wendy and her family."
