Lakeview Pavilion Celebrates Groundbreaking for New Building
The new Lakeview Pavilion is scheduled to open in September, 2015.

Heartbreaking does not even begin to describe the fire that destroyed Lakeview Pavilion in April. In one night, a fire took away a popular function space, a place for celebration, and the home for many weddings to come.
Come September, 2015, it will be that and more again.
Celebrating the rebirth of the function hall, owners Anastasia Tsoumbanos and Natalia Kapourelakos were joined by members of the community and town officials for the groundbreaking of the new Lakeview Pavilion, to be completed next year.

For Tsoumbanos and Kapourelakos, the sisters that immigrated to America from Greece in 1981 and have owned the property since 1988, leaving Foxborough was never an option. Only days after the fire that took away the building, they were planning to rebuild and remain in town.
“We were searching for the American dream and Lakeview Pavilion became our dream. It is our life and our passion. Since April, this is the day we’ve been waiting for and we feel so blessed that it’s finally here,” Kapourelakos said.

During her speech, Kapourleakos thanked fire and police officials for their assistance during the fire and town officials for their support during the rebuilding process.
“It’s not the way I wanted to be greeted into the community but I’m very proud of how our police and fire officers acted and I’m very pleased that our support staff has pulled together to help make this possible,” Town Manager Bill Keegan said.
Other officials at the event included Fire Chief Roger Hatfield, Police Chief Ed O’Leary, State Rep. Jay Barrows, State Senator Richard Ross, and Selectmen Jim DeVellis and Ginny Coppola.
According to Tsoumbanos, the new building will be 25,000 sq. ft. and include an energy efficient system, a new kitchen, and top of the line furnishings while keeping the best qualities of the old building such as the cathedral ceilings and crystal chandeliers.
Also in attendance were Rose Delorme and Vernaldi Metayer who will be one of the first couples to get married next October.
Despite not having a building, the pair had no hesitation when it came to choosing Lakeview, if not for their trust in the owners and staff.
“They had all the details, projections, renderings, and organization. They were absolutely professional and if they are confident, we are confident,” Delorme said.
In addition to the new building, the Lakeview Charitable Foundation will remain which supports three $1,000 college scholarships for students at Foxborough High School, the museum passport program at the Boyden Library, and the Foxborough Discretionary Fund.
