Minute by Minute: How Did The Tom Brady Jersey Theft Happen?

HOUSTON, TX — The man who allegedly stole Tom Brady's Super Bowl LI jersey had a knack for nabbing items at the NFL's biggest game, according to new reports.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports recently broke down how the man, identified as former La Prensa director Mauricio Ortega, was able to walk out of the Patriots locker room with the Super Bowl MVP's uniform.

It starts at 9:36 p.m. central time when Brady took his jersey off on the field and handed it to a team employee. By 9:41 p.m., the jersey is in the locker room. At 9:51, Ortega can be seen on surveillance video on the field and taking selfies with players. By 10:04 p.m., Ortega is off the field and heading towards the locker room with a group that includes Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. Ortega, a credentialed member of the international media, is able to enter the locker room well before any other media members and by 10:18 p.m., he is out with the jersey.

This wasn't the first time Ortega allegedly took home a souvenir. In addition to Brady's Super Bowl LI jersey, police allegedly recovered Brady's Super Bowl XLIX jersey and Von Miller's helmet from Super Bowl L, according to USA Today.

Brady will likely not remember, but this isn't the first time he's crossed paths with Ortega. After Super Bowl XXXIX in 2005, Ortaga grabbed a selfie with Brady.
