Representatives from National Grid are scheduled to meet with the selectmen April 17 discuss the response to the most recent snowstorms.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Residents who want to know how Foxborough compared to other towns during the recent storms will have a chance at the next selectmen meeting.
Representatives from National Grid are scheduled to meet with the board at their April 17 meeting to discuss storm performance. Town Manager Bill Keegan told the board that they will also get an update on the utility's tree-trimming plan.
"There's a perception that Foxborough goes down more than other communities and I've actually asked them to do a comparison to other communities," Keegan said.

While much of Foxborough was spared from the days-long blackout that plagued some parts of the state like the South Shore, nearly all of the town was in the dark during the March 2 storm which saw winds between 70-80 mph knock trees and branches into power lines. The vast majority of residents had their power restored within 48 hours.
That was followed by a storm the next week which knocked out power for about 30 percent of the town.
