FOXBOROUGH, MA — When the New England Patriots visit the White House Wednesday, it's likely to be one of the more memorable visits, given who will and won't be there.
Members of the Super Bowl-winning team are scheduled to meet with President Donald Trump at 2:30 p.m. for the traditional South Lawn meet and greet, along with the presenting of a football jersey with Trump's name on it. Leading up to the visit, six members of the Super Bowl Champion roster have said they will not attend. Martellus Bennett, LeGarrette Blount, Alan Branch, Devin McCourty, and Chris Long have cited their issues with Trump as the reason for their planned absences. Dont'a Hightown previously said he won't go because he's visited the White House as a member of the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Quarterback Tom Brady, who didn't have the time for the team's visit with President Barack Obama following Super Bowl XLIX, is expected to be there, along with coach Bill Belichick and owner Robert Kraft, who are both good friends of Trump.
For the Patriots, it will be the fifth visit to the White House. The trip almost didn't happen but a 31-point run late against the Atlanta Falcons brought another Lombardi Trophy to Foxborough.
