New England Revolution Sign US Soccer Standout Jermaine Jones
The defensive midfielder will sign with the New England Revolution.

After weeks of speculation and rumors, the New England Revolution announced on Sunday the signing of US National Team defensive midfielder Jermaine Jones. He will be added to the squad upon receipt of his International Transfer Certificate and will be one of the team’s designated players.
““I’m very excited to come to MLS and join the Revolution,” Jones said in a press release. “New England is an exciting team on the rise, and I believe I can come in and help the team make a push toward MLS Cup. Playing with the U.S. National Team has given me a great connection with the American fans and I’m looking forward to playing in front of them every weekend. I’m ready to get started with the Revs.”
A 14-year veteran, the German-born American comes to Foxborough after spending the majority of his career playing in Germany, most notably with Bayer Leverkusen and Shalke 04.

Jones left Germany for the 2013-14 season, playing for Turkish side Besiktas.
As a member of the US National Team, Jones earned 46 caps and three goals since his first call up in 2010. During the 2014, World Cup, Jones stuck out as one of the top players for the US, most memorably pulling the US even with Portugal in the 64th minute of the 2-2 draw.

Jones will be presented during a press conference at Gillette Stadium on Aug. 26 at 2 p.m.
