North Attleboro Man Drove Drunk on 2 Rims Across I-495, Rt. 1: Plainville Police

James Bengston was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

PLAINVILLE, MA — A North Attleboro man was down to two tires when officers pulled him over on Route 1 Sunday, police said.

James Bengston, 24, of North Attleboro, was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, according to the Plainville Police Department.

At about 4 p.m, Plainville police received several calls for a vehicle that was traveling on Interstate 495 and Route 1 South on two rims. Officer Wayne Cohen responded and observed the vehicle traveling south on Route 1, police said.

Following an investigation during a traffic stop at the intersection of Route 1 and Route 106, the driver was determined to be intoxicated, and was arrested.

Bengston was held overnight at the Plainville Police Department, and arraigned Monday in Wrentham District Court.
