Officials Say Bigger Acts Could Mean Less Problems for Chesney Shows
Kenny Chesney returns to Gillette Stadium this summer with Miranda Lambert, Sam Hunt, and Old Dominion.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — The wildest show at Gillette Stadium could have their calmest year, stadium and town officials said Tuesday night.
Gillette Stadium regular Kenny Chesney brings the Spread the Love tour to Foxborough on Aug. 26 and 27. The selectmen approved the license for the show this week, clearing the way for Chesney’s 10th year performing in Foxborough.
According to Jess Enos, director of business development and external affairs for the Kraft Group, Chesney’s supporting acts are the biggest yet for the show formerly known as Countryfest. The lineup, featuring Miranda Lambert, Sam Hunt, and Old Dominion, could get fans into the stadium earlier than in the past.

“We’re probably seeimg the biggest behavioral shift because people will be in at 5 p.m. to see the acts,” Enos said.
Town Manager Bill Keegan added that after last year and through this year’s Luke Bryan’s concert, it appears that the crowd is calming down a bit.

“What’s happening is the crowd is getting older and that’s a good thing. Folks tend to manage their behavior better when they’re older. Even last year the behavior was better,” Keegan said.
Despite the apparent change, stadium and police officials will increase their presence at the show with extra stadium security and detail officers. A separate booking station will be set up for the show.
Both concerts are sold out.
