FOXBOROUGH, MA — Mac Jones has, reportedly, told teammates that he may play through a high ankle sprain this week, but don't count on it. Patriots fans are likely to see backup Brian Hoyer under center this week, and the looming question is: How good can this team be without Jones?

Jones didn't participate in practice on Thursday, according to the Patriots injury report, but Mike Giardi said Jones was participating in game planning.

Patriots Struggle At Lambeau

A FanNation report looked at the Patriots history in Green Bay, and, oddly, it's rather limited. The teams have only played each other four times at one of the most historic sites in the NFL.

Unfortunately, things haven't gone great for the Patriots.

Brady and the Pats did put a beat down on the Brett Favre led Packers in 2006, but that's the only victory New England has claimed at Lambeau.

More On Mac

ESPN's Mike Reiss took a look at the likely timeline and effects of Jones' high ankle sprain, which, according to reports, would cause many to have surgery.

To be clear, even though Jones is pushing to get on the field, it's likely that he will miss multiple games. Reiss reported that Jones doesn't want to have surgery on his ankle, but, even if the sprain was more moderate, it would typically be a multi-week injury.

Belichick confirmed that Hoyer would start for however long Jones is out, picking him over rookie Bailey Zappe.

What To Know About The Packers

They've still got Aaron Rodgers, and the defense is stellar, but the skill position players on offense? Yikes.

Rodgers has yet to find a connection with his receivers, barely squeaking by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week 14-12.

Running backs Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon are healthy and can carry the offense unless the defense can get stops on the ground. If they can, it could be a low-scoring matchup at Lambeau.
