Patriot Place Hosts Foxborough Street Painting Festival

Patriot Place partners with Foxborough Public Schools and Foxboro Dental Associates to host a day of creative fun on May 21.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Discover what makes local artists smile as Patriot Place hosts the second annual Foxborough Street Painting Festival on Saturday, May 21, from noon to 6 p.m.

The festival, in partnership with the Foxborough Public Schools Art Department and Foxboro Dental Associates, aims to celebrate the arts and community through a day of family fun and activities throughout Patriot Place’s North Marketplace. Pre-registered artists from Foxborough and surrounding communities will be assigned a 5’x5’ cement square to design their own canvas from pastel chalks with the theme, “What Makes Me Smile.”

“I love the collaboration that takes place between artists at the Foxborough Street Painting Festival,” said Kelly Arcacha, district visual arts department head at Foxborough Public Schools. “This year, we have teams of high school friends, teams of college peers and even father and daughter and mother and son teams working together on squares. It is such an incredible opportunity for our students to interact and make connections with artists from all over the region.”

From noon to 6 p.m., guests can enjoy a number of free family activities around Patriot Place while artists create their masterpieces throughout the day. Activities include: caricature and balloon artists, MIX 104.1 (noon to 2 p.m.) and AMP 103.3 (3-5 p.m.) street teams, an artist Paint Out event outside of the Artist’s Studio & Gallery and a special appearance by New England Patriots mascot, Pat Patriot (4-6 p.m.).
