Patriots Deliver ‘Crucial Catch’ T-Shirts To Cancer Survivors

The Patriots Foundation surprised members of the Hockomock Area YMCA's LIVESTRONG AND STRONG programs with "Crucial Catch" t-shirts.

FOXBOROUGH, MA - From The New England Patriots: During the month of October, the New England Patriots Foundation has been spreading awareness about cancer and providing support to those in treatment through their “Crucial Catch” campaign.

Over the past few weeks, the Patriots have visited cancer survivors at local hospitals, provided grants to areas in greatest need to support early detection programs and cancer screenings, hosted their annual Day of Pampering event for women currently in cancer treatment and celebrated more than 400 cancer survivors on the Gillette Stadium field during a pregame ceremony of the Patriots-Falcons game on Oct. 22.

The team continued its month-long initiative with a visit to the Hockomock Area YMCA’s Invensys Foxboro Branch on Thursday, Oct. 26, to surprise a group of more than 50 cancer survivors enrolled in the Y’s LIVESTRONG and STRONG programs with Patriots Crucial Catch t-shirts and Patriots gift bags.

“We are here to simply show our support to these survivors and let them know that we are standing side-by-side with them,” said Donna Spigarolo, community relations director for the Patriots. “We wanted to share our Crucial Catch t-shirts with them so they could proudly display their Patriots pride and let them know how much we admire their courage and bravery as they battle through cancer.”

The YMCA’s LIVESTRONG and STRONG programs were established at the Foxboro, Franklin and North
Attleboro branches in 2010 to help cancer survivors begin the journey toward recovery from cancer
treatment. The programs offer adults affected by cancer a safe, supportive environment to participate in
physical and social activities.
