Patriots Fight Back Against Wells Report
The team's counsel has produced a response titled, "The Wells Report in Context."

- Legal representatives for the New England Patriots are now disputing the findings of the Wells Report.
In a report called the Wells Report in Context, the report that accuses the Patriots of deflating gameday footballs is called at best, “incomplete, incorrect and lack context.”
The report was written by Daniel Goldberg, a senior partner in the Boston office of Morgan Lewis. He was also present during all of the interviews of Patriots personnel conducted at Gillette Stadium
The report from the team dismisses the scientific explanation for the natural loss of psi of the Patriots footballs by inexplicably rejecting the Referee’s recollection of what gauge he used in his pregame inspection. Texts acknowledged to be attempts at humor and exaggeration are nevertheless interpreted as a plot to improperly deflate footballs, even though none of them refer to any such plot,” the website reads.
