Patriots Will Not Appeal Deflategate Punishment

Owner Robert Kraft made the announcement at the NFL owners' meeting in San Francisco.

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft may not agree with the punishment for Deflategate, but he will accept it.

Kraft made the announcement at the NFL owners’ meeting in San Francisco, hesitantly choosing to not appeal the $1 million fine and the loss of a first-round and fourth-round pick.

“Although I might disagree with what is decided, I do have respect for the Commissioner and believe that he’s doing what he perceives to be in the best interest of the full 32 (teams),” Kraft said “So, in that spirit, I don’t want to continue the rhetoric that’s gone on for the last four months. I’m going to accept, reluctantly, what he has given to us and not continue this dialogue and rhetoric. We won’t appeal.”

The team’s acceptance of the fine and lost draft picks will not have an effect on the NFLPA’s appeal of Tom Brady’s four-game suspension.
