Personal Best Karate fundraiser nets $700 for Igo Elementary

fundraiser for local elementary school

It was a fun way to have a fundraiser –students participating in karate classes at Igo Elementary School in Foxboro. Personal Best Karate, 36 Commercial Street, Foxboro, donated instructors and supplies for a four-week course after school in the gym about character education.

“The class is fun for the students, but it is really about promoting character education, which is what we do at Personal Best Karate,” said Kerry Farrell, Director of Marketing at the karate school. “Ms. Stacey Caron is a third degree Black Belt and has been running this program for years. She knows how to make it fun but still teach the kids respect, discipline and self-confidence.”

The fundraiser netted $700, funds which will go back into the Igo school for the students.

The students culminated their course with a graduation at Personal Best Karate, complete with a White Belt certificate and broke a board in front of their family and friends. “Breaking the board is such an amazing accomplishment for the students,” said Farrell. “It gives them the confidence to do anything.”
