Prospective Aaron Hernandez Juror Thought Case Was About Deflategate

Needless to say, she was not picked to be a member of the jury.

BOSTON, MA — A potential juror in the Aaron Hernandez double murder trial was excused Friday after confusing the case with Deflategate.

The woman, who was asked if she was familiar with the case, said in court "I heard something about Deflategate, but that’s it," according to the Boston Herald. She was allowed to leave after prosecutors use a juror challenge.

The response drew laugher from those in the courtroom, including Hernandez.

So far, three jurors have been picked and the process will continue until 12 jurors and four alternatives are selected.

The trial is scheduled to start March 1.

Hernandez is charged with in the 2012 killing Daniel Jorge Correia de Abreu, 29, and Safiro Furtado. Prosecutors alleged that Hernandez fatally shot the two because they spilled a drink on him at Cure Lounge.

He is currently service a life sentence for the 2013 murder of Odin Loyd.
