PLAINVILLE, MA — A Plainville man admitted in court Monday to molesting three boys, including a mentally disabled child, between the ages of 6 and 16 years old.

David Puccio, 46, pleaded guilty to four counts of indecent assault and battery on a person under the age of 14, indecent assault and battery on a person over the age of 14, three counts of indecent assault and battery on a person with an intellectual disability, and attempted indecent assault and battery on a person over age 14, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney's office. "All three families were represented in court today and expressed their relief and pleasure with the sentence of five to seven years in State Prison followed by seven years of probation,” District Attorney Michael Morrissey said in a statement.

Puccio, a mechanic and former EMT, was charged following an investigation by Plainville Police detectives that started with the first victim report in November 2013. He was indicted in 2014, was on new charges in 2016 when one of the victims made additional disclosures, the DA's office said.

Puccio did not know or meet his victims through his work, according to prosecutors. He abused several friendships to gain access to his friends’ children, then assaulted them multiple times between 2001 and 2011.

Following his release, Puccio must register as a sex offender, seek a sex offender evaluation, have no contact with the victims and their families, and cannot work with children under the age of 18.
