Police Log: Spinning Tires Lead to Arrest, Man With Sword, and More

October 5
12:34 a.m. – Investigating a suspicious motor vehicle with spinning tires near the intersection of Old Post Road and Walpole Street, police arrested and charged James Keefe, 24, of Rockland, with operating under the influence of alcohol, operating a vehicle negligently as to endanger, and operating a motor vehicle with unnecessary noise.
1:55 p.m. – A resident reported a cat stuck in a tree on Maskwonicut Street.

3:04 p.m. – A male with a sword in front of a building on Bayberry Drive was reported.
5:09 p.m. – A customer that appeared to be intoxicated in a store on South Main Street was reported.

5:15 p.m. – A male in his 40s appeared with a sword in a courtyard on Bayberry Drive.
5:37 p.m. – An unlicensed driver drove off at the intersection of South Main and Wolomolopoag Streets.
10:15 p.m. – A person stated that someone was in his home on Ashcroft Road while he was out.
October 6
10:07 a.m. – A deceased animal was reported on South Main Street.
11:30 a.m. – A shed was set on fire on Belcher Street.
October 7
2:54 a.m. – A mailbox appeared to be vandalized on Moose Hill Street.
6:30 p.m. – A breaking and entering was reported from a driveway on Laurel Road.
11:14 p.m. – A vehicle hit a light pole and left the scene.
October 8
6:17 p.m. – A motorist nodding off behind the wheel at the intersection of Old Post Road and Walpole Street was reported.
6:50 p.m. – A resident on Tolman Street issued a noise complaint for a dog barking.
