Bacterial Meningitis Ruled Out At Foxborough Charter School

Although viral meningitis was not confirmed nor ruled out, health officials ruled out the more dangerous bacterial form of the illness.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — A student who school administrators and parents at Foxborough Regional Charter School feared had meningitis tested negative for the bacterial form of the illness, according to superintendent Mark Logan.

Although Logan's statement did not confirm or rule out viral meningitis, health officials ruled out the much more dangerous bacterial form of the illness.

"While we continue to monitor this situation, and of course, support the family, there are no additional precautions needed at this time," Logan said in a statement.
