Pour Your Own Beers At Gillette? Foxboro Selectmen Unanimously Approve
The gameday experience at Gillette Stadium just got a little more futuristic, but things really won't change that much. Here's what to know.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Welcome to the 21st century, Patriots fans.
At the Sept. 27 Board of Selectmen meeting, Foxborough's five-person board unanimously approved a measure that will allow patrons to pour their own beers at Gillette Stadium.
Jim Nolan, the Chief Operating Officer of NPS, LCC., presented the proposal to the board.

Nolan explained that the new technology is already allowed in other stadiums across the major sports leagues and that the Director or Concessions for Gillette Stadium used the technology during their time with the Washington Nationals.
"The only difference between this portable and a typical draft portable is that the final act of pouring the beer is done by a machine and not by a human," Nolan said. "From our perspective, every other piece of the transaction is the same."

Identification would still be checked by an employee at the beer station, as would sobriety. Once those are checked off, the person would walk to the machine, insert a credit card, choose their drink and fill their cup.
A maximum of two drinks can be purchased at one time, Nolan said.
